The Weekend Schemers are a four piece group championing a new sound; Stadium Indie. Based in Leicester and originally formed in 2009, the current line up was settled in April 2010. Since then we have been writing and performing across the midlands. A couple of our past shows include supporting chart topping singer/rapper Example in October and earning ourselves a slot at Europe’s Largest Tributes and New Acts Festival, Glastonbudget, two years running.
Our upcoming E.P release Hallucinations is an offering of the diverse music we have been writing as a band. This includes the songs our fans instantly recognise such as ‘Limits’ and ‘Little Too Late’ and the more detailed and explorative tracks ‘Changing Faces’ and ‘Flaws Of Pursuit’. Overall we have chosen these songs to be on our debut E.P because they show both our ability to produce radio friendly upbeat tracks, and more meaningful songs that show our capabilities as musicians and leave an impression on the listeners.
Since the release of our free ‘Little Too Late’ demo last year, we have received substantial online response which has been overwhelmingly positive. The demo has been played on the main local radio station ‘Leicester Sound’ and various online radio stations and we have been BBC Introduced by Dean Jackson who we will be doing an acoustic set for in the coming months. The response on social networking sites has led to us planning a tour in August made up of fan requested places and venues.

We now represent Dave, aka ‘The Ska Man’ performs a solo show dedicated to some of the greatest Ska bands that ever lived and are still performing today, The show will take you back to that forgotten era of music which controlled the rhythm of your feet and dominated the streets of Great Britain!!

The show includes massive hits by the likes of Madness, The Specials, Bad Manners and The Beat just to mention a few and will have your dance floor stomping. the show is available in either 2 x 45 minute sets or a 1 x 1 hour set.
The show also includes a selection of well known reggae tracks by such reggae bands as UB40, Bob Marley and John Holt and other greats alike who were major names in the Ska/Reggae rival whilst Dave was growing up in the Welsh valleys.
Dave has worked the cabaret scene performing at holiday parks, pubs and clubs for many years covering Wales and the West of England but as times changed he felt he needed to change his style, so went back to the grass roots of the music he loved to bring you something totally refreshing and visually energetic!
Dave is a big believer in quality and takes his show to the max including costume changes of Periodic clothes, footwear and hats to give this show a real flavour of what once was.. The Ska Man show offers you an affordable true party atmosphere giving you a big sound without the expense of a full Ska band and can cater for all Social events, holiday parks, scooter events, weddings and any other kind of function or venue you care to think of. This is a fantastic vocalist to book for any event now available on our roster please listen to his video on this website a very busy young lad to entertain any crowd in any venue,Lukes interest in music began when he was thirteen and he was bought an acoustic guitar for Christmas. He taught himself to play by using various books and also began to sing along to various songs as accompaniment. After a while, Luke, wanted to expand his knowledge of music and began to take private piano lessons. When he was fifteen he was introduced to clubland legend & vocal coach, Tony Wayne, who instantly recognized a special quality in Luke’s singing voice. Since then Luke has been training with Tony and has assisted him at many venues throughout the club circuit. Luke’s passion is now singing and he aspires to appear one day in a musical in the West End.

Whilst studying for his A-Levels, Luke has completed two seasons working as a Resident Entertainer at Thornwick Sea Farm & Holiday Centre in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Although only 19, Luke has a very mature voice for his age and enjoys singing a variety of songs from musical theatre to good old fashioned sing-a-longs and more modern dance music
